Why does this particular model suffer from automatic shut-offs. No timer was set, yet the TV shuts off all by itself. Why?

    Hey George,
I have the un32eh4050fxza and it will not power on and has no standby light. I have already changed the power supply and has done nothing(wish I would have seen this video first). What do you think my problem is more likely to be? I was thinking main board or IR sensor / power button.
I would be greatful of your assistence and any others help too.
    Thanks all,
    Josh

I have this model TV and lost power during a firmware update. TV makes power up sound when you try to turn it on but there's no picture. how do I go about resetting or reloading the firmware to correct this, or is there some other more simplistic way?

  • Reply George Droukas June 25, 2014 at 4:32 pm

Today's televisions are not designed to work with external speakers, the audio amplifier inside the television does not use a common ground and the impedance of the speakers is very important.
We do not recommend modifying the audio circuit because this can damage the main board, we all knowthat today's televisions are not designed for top quality sound do to space limitations and recommend using an external audio amplifier, take the line audio output from your cable or satellite box to drive it.

Hey man great video, I was wondering if you had any on the same model for a greyish, video. I can still see the menu, and the channel slightly but its like the screen is very faded. I have went back to default on all the video settings its definitely something else. Thoughts?

Hey George, I have the UN32D4003BD.  I mistakenly installed the wrong firmware via USB. The TV powered down and never booted up. The Red LED  stand by light. comes on and remains solid (does not blink ) when the tv is plugged in. But it will not power on it is unresponsive to touch panel power button and remote control… Any Help would be Great !!!  Thanks in Advance

Good morning, The main board will need to be replaced since the wrong firmware convoluted the microprocessor, this model uses numerous main boards and in order to order the correct one get the part number located on the barcode sticker from the actual board, this should start with BN94-xxxxx and search for it at www.tvtechparts.com.
    Best regards.

I have that model Samsung.  I had a lightning strike and no power and no stand by light, nothing.  I did that test for the main power board you did in the video and still nothing.  How sure can I be it is the power board?

  • Reply George Droukas September 17, 2014 at 7:43 pm

If you follow all steps and the panel it's no coming on then the power supply needs to be replaced first, since lightning hit the unit there is a possibility the main board may also be bad.

Hey again, So i ordered the new MB. I found it on ebay with a return policy for 30. bucks and  free shipping.  Which I thought was pretty good, since everywhere else it was final sale and upwards of 60.bucks plus shipping . I will Comment back to let you know how it goes thanks again for the help = }   would it be a good idea to hold onto the original MB ?    I also have another samsung its a LN37A450C1D. I got it from a friend that was going to toss it.. everything functions great except for the color.  the picture is off, like solarized or polarized… how can i check the calibration before i go and buy a new t-con board ?

  • Reply lennox willis November 16, 2014 at 10:36 pm

hey my picture is solarized how do i fix? i dont know if its the t-con board or settings changed

  • Reply Dumaine Slade November 18, 2014 at 4:03 pm

We have UN32EH-4003F. Has sound on all inputs no video. Someone mentioned main board, so I found one on ebay. Same problem. Could I have received a bad main board from ebay, or is it another issue like the small narrow board under the screen which connects to main board with ribbon cable?

  • Reply George Droukas November 18, 2014 at 4:23 pm

Does the panel light up? to verify follow the troubleshooting instructions on the video, you may have a bad power supply or a bad LED panel.

  • Reply B L November 21, 2014 at 2:16 am

What if it plays melody with that wire plugged in and mini led blinks. Then i unplug that plug and i get nothing?

  • Reply George Droukas November 21, 2014 at 2:00 pm

With the plug removed there is no power applied to the main video board, with the plug removed the panel should light up if the LED's inside the panel are ok and the power supply is working, it sound like you may have a bad power supply or a bad panel.

I have a Samsumg UN40F6300 that will not turn on.  Red light on front blinks twice for 5 times.  I did the test in the video and the led lights flicker and the electric plug seems to not be seating properly.  Holding it down doesn't seem to matter.   What next?  New cord? New power board?

Hello, I have a Samsung LEDTV UN32EH5000FXZA, few months back the display suddenly went black, sometimes it flicks and shows picture for a second. The display back light is just dead. Powers up fine and we can hear the sound on back. What do you think is wrong here, and how can we fix it. Thank you so much.

  • Reply Rae Nell Hunter January 27, 2015 at 7:44 pm

I've been meaning to post and thank you for your help.  First of all this video actually covered the troubleshooting procedure I needed when others just showed how to replace power supply.  Second:  you actually answered my question (below) so I could isolate the problem.  Third:  after searching the internet to find the part I actually bought it from you because unlike others, you had in stock and your price was very reasonable.  Lastly, it arrived in 2 days, and worked like a charm.   You are the best.

I have this same model and The other day I was moving my TV from a different room and stupidly didn't remove the HDMI cord and it got snagged on a door knob and ripped out breaking the port it was connected to. The second port was still fully intact but also not working, I was able to get it somewhat working but when the TV got moved too much it stopped. The USB for media was still working. I didn't test component.

So I ordered a replacement main board and got it today and switched it. But the HDMI ports still aren't working. They're both perfectly intact and the board is functional but still nothing. The USB works as does component (but there's no audio). I've tried to factory reset and it didn't work. Is there anything I can do or is the problem with the other board or one of the cables?

Some help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have Samsung UA46f7500BR tv which flickers every second or so when I switch on the 3D mode. Works perfectly fine in 2D mode. I've reset it to factory settings but that didn't make any difference. I called up a technician and he said the motherboard would have to be changed, which seems like an overkill solution. I saw a video that suggested snipping a jumper to get rid of such a flicker but that was another TV model. Can you recommend any solution? Thanks.

  • Reply George Droukas April 10, 2015 at 3:06 pm

It could be your 3D source signal or a bad main video board. I apologize, can't be more specific without troubleshooting the television further.

  • Reply EL DURO April 11, 2015 at 5:13 am

Are you serious? That is the trouble shooting for this tv, I have this model tv and some shop wanted to charge 80.00 bucks just for trouble shooting. I will do this and if thats the issue then I will buy the part from your site, thanks for the video you've just save me 80 bucks. The problem with my TV is that there is no picture, there is a ON light and sound but no picture.

    Hello,
I have a samsung model no. UN32EH4003F. I couple of nights ago I was watching a movie and all of a sudden the screen started flickering over and over and finally the screen got really dim. I checked all the settings and everything was fine, there is just no backlight at all. And I went through all the troubleshooting steps and I can only see light through 2 holes of the panel when just the power supply is active. Can I snip one of the jumpers to make it work or is it something else? Thank you.

Good video George.  However, I have a Samsung UN60 with a switching power supply and I have a question.  Does the UN32 here have a switching supply?  On the 60 I have two inputs from the main board to the power supply which turns on backlight (BLU_on) and turns  on the power supply (PS_on).  So if I unplug the main board, I should not be able to turn on the backlights as you have done in this video.  Im hoping that the UN32 power supply is different or my troubleshoot is bad.   My problem is that as soon as you plug in the tv, the backlights and power led start blinking on and off at about 1 Hz.  It never turns on; just sits there and blinks.  It does this with or without main board plugged in.  If I unplug backlight plug from power supply the tv will turn on and will respond to on/off button and remote.  Im thinking that I have a bad power supply but also wondering if I have a bad power supply AND bad backlights.

My TV was turning on and immediately off when I would plug it in.  Thanks to this instructional video I was able to repair my TV for $25. I did the test just like he explained and got my problem solved.   In my case the BN44-00554B LED LCD Power Supply Board Unit Motherboard was malfunctioning.  Thanks for providing this video it saved me from having to buy another TV.

I have the exact same tv and have done the troubleshooting as you described in your video. When I plugged in the tv, the LED lights did not light up. Does that mean the power supply board is bad? Thank you in advance for any help.

  • Reply Peter Lacson October 3, 2015 at 7:19 pm

You mentioned that the main control board needs to be replaced since the power supply board is working. You did not mention anything about the T Con Board that connects to the main board. ( black L film ). I see on my TV the board is located between the two speakers. Is there a possibility that this is not working? can this be replaced? My TV is fairly 2 years old and I hardly use it. Please help. email address [email protected] Thank you

Mine is coming on for a split wsecond, making a startup sound, and then going off. Is this a power board failure? All of the lights in this video are NOT on when I attempt to turn the unit on.

Hey George I have a Samsung LN40D630M3fxza and the power just shut off while watching tv. I have looked at the caps and they look ok. sometimes the red power light is on but looks dim. I tried the diag as per this video and if I unplug the main board all of the lcd lights DO turn on….. Do you think its a mainboard issue or Power board issue????

  • Reply Mr. Roboto January 31, 2016 at 6:14 am

I have one of these tv's un32eh4003fxza in your video. My back light would not come on. There are four wires on the top right of the power board that I think power the light. I have two positive and two negative coming out. I discovered that one pair of positive/negative wires are not getting power for some reason, but If I cross over from the other pair that work then my back light turns on. Does this mean that there is a bad part on the power board? Is it ok to keep the working pair of wires crossed over to power the pair that don't work so I can keep the light on?

  • Reply Shawn W. May 8, 2016 at 5:58 pm

If the LED only flash on as I plug the power board in, is that faultiness from the power board? The TV endlessly starts up.

  • Reply George Droukas May 8, 2016 at 6:13 pm

Hey Shawn, I'm afraid that the actual LED strips are bad inside the panel.

thanks for the vid..i have this exact TV. I was watching it yesterday when it suddenly began to power off & on.. like someone was pranking me with the remote from somewhere. So, I did this test you recommended, disconnected the main board from power board and then plugged the TV back in. It flashes on and off every half second or so. Would replacing the fuse possibly be a fix? Also, I noticed a C9A component is slightly raised/puffy on the top. Very slight but noticeable. Another video recommended looking for these signs. Thanks!

  • Reply George Droukas May 20, 2016 at 12:27 am

Hello, The part that's raised on top is a capacitor, this part is bad that's why the screen goes on and off.

  • Reply Lenny John May 27, 2016 at 3:29 am

So before to day I had the same problem as John but I left the tv on during a storm and lighting struck and will not turn back on. I tried what you did in the video but the back lights don't come on. So should I have both problems checked out?

  • Reply George Droukas May 27, 2016 at 12:25 pm

Possible blown power supply since it was hit by lightning, one way to verify that is to observe the power on light with all connection in place.

I've a SAMSUNG – Series 4 UE32EH4000 32 inch TV, till last night it was working fine, we switched it off and today it's not turning on, I've checked the power cable and re-inserted it as well but no luck, the power socket is working fine as we know from plugging in other stuff so the issue seems to be with tv only, no light comes on in the tv when we turn the switch on, it just remains dead, doesn't respond to remote as well. Can you suggest what could be the possible cause of it? and how can we go about fixing this issue?
Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi

I have a samsung un40f6300af tv. When I turn the tv on I get the red blinking light that keeps flashing two times, two times, two times.
I took the back off the tv as in your video. I didn't notice any bulging capacitors on the power board (BN44-00645D). I disconnected the main board and turned the tv on. The panel on the TV flickers. It turns on and off repeatedly.

Not sure if this is a panel, led backlight, power, or main board issue. any idea what it could be?

    thanks….

Hello George, thanks for posting these videos. My UN32EH4003 powers on (makes a chime sound and the red light comes on) but the screen is dark. I still see an image if I shine a flashlight on it. I would think that indicates a bad backlight correct? But because this is an LED backlit model, can the backlight be replaced? What are the chances of this being the correct solution? I would appreciate your advice.

I bought a power board from you 4 years ago.  It worked fine.  I have a new problem.  The TV is turning on and off on its own.  When I plug it in it turns on then in a few seconds it turns off, then it turns on again and then it turns off again.  I tried a number of different things but nothing works.  The TV plays well with no other issues.  When I first started doing this it would sometimes stay on for a while then turn back off and then come back on.  I have heard it could be a compasserter but if it is I would just buy the board itself, whichever one is a problem.  My TV is the same one in your video model UN32EH4003. I have tried just about everything else.
