In this video, I’ll show you how to use Cortana
in Windows 10. Cortana is a personal assistant included in
Windows 10 that can answer questions, search the web, find things on your computer, and
more. Cortana’s search field is at the bottom of
the screen next to the Start button. You can click in the field to type your questions
or terms to Cortana or select the microphone to begin talking to Cortana.
You can also use the Cortana button on your keyboard.
Lastly, you can simply say “Hey, Cortana,” and she’ll start listening, but you’ll have
to enable that last feature first. To do that, click in the Cortana field.
Now select this icon here to find the settings. Under “Let Cortana respond when you say Hey
Cortana,” ensure the toggle is set to On. You might have to scroll down to see it.
To get the most out of Cortana, you’ll need to be using a Microsoft account on your PC.
If you’re not, you’ll be prompted to change to one when you use Cortana.
Just follow the prompts. It’s easy! Whether you’re typing or talking to Cortana,
she can help you in a variety of ways. For example, when I say “Hey, Cortana, what’s
the weather like?” she responds with the current weather at my location.
Or I can ask “Hey, Cortana, what’s the capital of Canada?” and she tells me “Ottawa.”
If I ask a question and she does not know the answer, she will bring up a web search
If I want to search for files on my computer, I just type in her search field like this,
and here are my results. I hope this gives you a better understanding
of how to use Cortana in Windows 10. For more information, or help with Windows
