Know Your Zone App: User Guide

December 2, 2019

When it snows, City crews work around the
clock to ensure our roads are safe. On-street parking bans help crews effectively
clean the streets. By downloading Winnipeg’s Know Your Zone
app, you can get notifications of parking bans in your neighbourhood so you can park
elsewhere to avoid a ticket or tow. Using the app is easy. Download it. Click allow to notifications. This is what will allow the app to notify
you of parking bans. Enter an address in the search bar. You can also tap ‘Search by location’
to find the address you’re currently located at. Your location services must be enabled on
your smart phone in order for this to work. Select the star icon to save a location to
your favourites. You’ll get notifications when parking bans
are in effect in any of your saved locations. ‘Where else can I park’ helps you find
alternate parking, and shows you parking restrictions on nearby streets. Click ‘More’ to see your snow zone including
zone letter, street priority, and whether or not your location is on a snow route. Clicking the map icon allows you to click
on different streets to view their parking restrictions. You can view a list of current parking bans
by clicking on the calendar icon on the menu. You will see a checkmark next to any current
bans. Ready to Know Your Zone? Double check that:
– your parking locations are saved in favourites before exiting the app, and that
– your push notifications are enabled on your phone because this is what will allow the
app to notify you of parking bans. Avoid a ticket and tow this season by using
the Know Your Zone app. Download the app on your mobile device for
free at the Apple App Store or Google Play App store. For more information on the app and snow operations,
