How to Restore Acer laptop to Factory Settings

July 14, 2019

hey YouTube comm fixer Channel I'm going to do a factory reset laptop this is setting it back to the day you bought it basically good for if you have a virus you can get rid of or it's just really slow and you just want to start over most these days or laptops come with this option that's pretty well done the same on all of them this one's probably five six years old and they just want to restore back to default which is this one actually is Vista so when you do do that it's going to wipe everything on your hard drive as in files folders you have programs you float it on pictures so any of that stuff you want to save on a USB stick you want to do that first specially pictures and music so I'm just going to I'm going to do it it takes it could take anywhere from 20 minutes to 40 minutes for it to actually totally finish but to get it started the steps to get it started and get it go on is five minutes or so and once it gets going there's you don't have to do anything anyway just once done you follow the steps it basically reloads drivers and you want update windows when you're done so we're just going to get right to it and do it like I said once it starts I'm just going to turn I'm just going to stop the video because you don't want to watch it for a half hour so I'm just going to move this camera create second business there okay sorry okay Acer this one model is 55 36 – five – five five one anyway so what we do here to restore to factory default is going to power it up when you power it up once you see the line and coming across the bottom I think it usually says press f2 to get into setup mode blah blah blah we don't want to do that but when you see that you're going to hold the Alt key and tap the f10 at the same time so we're going to do that right now turn it on bring with my Alt key wait for the there we go alt and tap out 10 once it does beeping like that you know you you're in there so wait a second again I just want to remind you before you do this you can stop anytime before you click ok but you definitely want to save anything you want to keep because it is going to wipe it all so again that was Alt + top f10 to get into this mode should say wait a moment or some please wait a moment yep so now we're we're definitely on the right track strip this is a sir I guess HP most of them toshiba is most of them have this restore to system to fax completely restore system to factory default this is the one we want this one will restore the cycle and will restore it you keep your files and stuff but if you've got a virus or some inter mail or problems you don't want to do that one you just want to completely restore it so that's what we're going to do we're going to click on that explaining now that it's going to erase all your stuff yes next now it's just tell me what's in there 250 gig hard drive next this action will overwrite all existing debt on the partition Acer click OK so it's only doing the partition of the hard drive is not overriding the restore section so you can do this over and over you can do it again in a week if you wanted to so click OK and then here we are now this part here is where it is actually doing the restore and again let's get taking 15-20 minutes maybe a little longer sometimes the less and then once is done and will tell you that and then when you boot it will say restart when you restart it up first time it takes a little bit to reach startup because it's going to reload all the drivers and stuff and all both programs that came with it but it's pretty straight forward from here so I'm going to stop the video now hopefully that helps you thanks for watching

Didn't work on mine. And that's tapping F10 since you said to do it, right to that screen that popped up.

Love how this video by this guy, who does it all as a labor of love (check out his channel, most videos have nearly no views, just hundreds, or a very few thousands, which is like nothing) has reached an important number of views here.
